Desra Secure Launches NIST 800-171 & CMMC Readiness Service for Florida Defense Contractors

ORLANDO, FL — Desra Secure, the operator-led federal technology services arm of Desra Group, LLC, today announced the launch of a dedicated NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC 2.0 readiness service line for Florida-based Defense Industrial Base (DIB) contractors.

A Florida-specific response to a national enforcement wave

With the CMMC 2.0 final rule (32 CFR Part 170) in effect and phased contract requirements rolling into DoD solicitations through 2028, Florida's defense and aerospace ecosystem — anchored by MacDill AFB, Patrick Space Force Base, Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, NAS Pensacola, NAS Jacksonville, and the broader USSOCOM and USCENTCOM mission sets — is facing a compliance event unlike anything the DIB has seen since DFARS 252.204-7012.

Desra Secure's new readiness service is built to meet that wave head-on. It is designed for Florida primes and subcontractors that have CUI or FCI in their environments today and need a defensible path to a passing SPRS score, a Level 2 certification, or a Level 3 government assessment.

What the service covers

  • CUI & FCI discovery — data flow mapping, contract flow-down review, and enclave-vs-enterprise scoping decisions.
  • NIST 800-171 gap assessment — control-by-control evaluation against all 110 requirements with prioritized remediation.
  • SSP & POA&M build-out — assessment-ready documentation packages that hold up under DCMA DIBCAC and C3PAO scrutiny.
  • SPRS scoring & affirmation support — accurate scoring, senior official affirmation workflows, and ongoing posture management.
  • GCC High / enclave architecture — Microsoft 365 GCC High, segmentation, and zero-trust patterns sized to the customer.
  • C3PAO pre-assessment — mock assessments and evidence packaging ahead of the formal Level 2 certification.

Why Florida, why now

C3PAO assessment capacity is finite, and demand is already outpacing supply. Florida contractors that wait until a contract clause forces the conversation will be competing for the same assessment slots as the rest of the DIB. The contractors that start the readiness work now — building SSPs, closing POA&M items, and proving out their enclaves — are the ones that will hold their existing contracts and win the next round.

"Florida's defense corridor is full of small and mid-size primes that are world-class at their mission work and under-resourced on the compliance side. That is exactly the gap Desra Secure was built to close — operator-led, cleared, and on the ground in the installations our customers serve," said Dalton Young, Founder of Desra Secure.

What's next

The CMMC readiness service launches alongside Desra Secure's existing facility security, cleared workforce, and federal IT engineering practices. The company has also begun the process of pursuing Cyber AB Registered Provider Organization (RPO) status, which will be announced separately upon approval.
